Milo Balls

If something is quick, easy and tasty – I’ll be trying it! So when I came across a recipe for Milo Balls, I couldn’t wait to make them. I love milo, I love making (and eating) truffle balls so of course these were on my to-do list (and to do sooner rather than later).

 milo balls

I think I found myself a new addiction! Not only were they delicious, but they freeze perfectly which makes them great for lunch boxes, snacks or just to grab one (or four!) when you feel like a little treat.

To share the love, here is the recipe;

250grams milk arrowroot biscuits (crushed)
395grams sweetened condensed milk
4 tablespoons milo
desiccated coconut for rolling

Crush the biscuits until small or fine (if you have a food processor, it’s perfect for this recipe)
Add the milo and condensed milk and mix until well combined.
Roll into teaspoon sized balls with your hands (damp hands make the balls easier to handle) and then roll in the shredded coconut to coat.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm.

I added a little bit extra milo and next time I’m going to try coating them in chocolate for a bit more decadence.

Enjoy these…. I’m off to get some out of the freezer now 🙂

Paris Puff at Rheinland

I’m a sucker for a good bakery. Nothing beats all the pastries and cakes you can get.

Rhineland bakery is one such bakery – it has never disappointed me yet. Their hot food is good and their cakes and sweet treats always look amazing; it’s hard to decide what to get.

This time I tried their Paris Puff. A giant cream puff, cut in half and filled with a custard layer and then loads of cream and some strawberries. It looked amazing.

I thought it would be quite rich but it wasn’t. It was light, the cream was fluffy and delicious with a hint of sweetness. The pastry was delicious, it was soft and light and it was no where near as messy to eat as I expected.

This is one puff I’ll be back for.
